In the outdoor area, Stedelijk Museum Breda and Grote Kerk present the photo exhibition Breda Fashion with work by Sacha van Dorssen and Petrovsky & Ramone. This presentation ties in with the summer exhibitions Sacha! - 50 years of fashion photography in the museum and Royal Fashion Design - Mattijs van Bergen in the Grote Kerk.
An accompanying free audio tour can be listened, with this freely accessible outdoor exhibition. The audio tour can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the works. The tour gives a personal view of Sacha's way of working. She talks about her travels, where she meets many different people and works closely with a creative team. Because she often works outdoors, she has to adapt to the weather conditions at each location and sometimes make unconventional choices. Her calm way of telling takes you into her story; like standing next to her as she is in her artistic process.
In addition, image editor Jenny Smets can be heard. She specializes in fashion photography and talks about the industry during Sacha's time. Her story provides context to the photos; how faraway places and light storylines were introduced, the way female nudes were viewed and how the composition in a photo can emphasize the clothes the model is wearing.
The photo works can be seen from June 18th till August 2th at BRACK (Speelhuislaan 173A in Breda) and then from August 2nd till August 30th at the back of Breda central station (also Speelhuislaan).
